The traceroute package does not come with the manual pages (sections 1m and 8).
I've also downloaded the latest version from:
ftp://ftp.ee.lbl.gov/
However, even when compiling from source, will not install the manual pages.
This is definitely not an Arch Linux issue, but I am asking for guidance on how to deal with this.
I've found both manual pages, but unfortunately not in ASCII troff format or preprocessor input text format, but in HTML format here:
http://man.cx/traceroute(1m)
http://man.cx/traceroute(8)
Luckily, I've found the manual page of section 8 in the appropriate format here:
http://www.xse.com/leres/tivo/downloads … route.8.gz
So, I still missing the 1m section so if anyone could, please upload it somewhere and let me know.
Also contact information for either Arch's package traceroute maintainer (not available if I do pacman -Qi traceroute) or contact information to whoever is maintaining traceroute in general.
Thanks in advance.

The tarball provides traceroute.8 - I'm looking at it right now. If you want it included in the Arch traceroute package, post a bug report.
Our usual approach is to package whatever is provided from upstream with as little interference as possible, so we should include traceroute.8, even if the install process omits it in error. The traceroute dev(s) have not included traceroute.1m (for whatever reason), so we shouldn't include it - unless there is a very convincing case for doing so.

Installing by pacman, the package current/traceroute-1.4a12-2 will not install any manual page at all.
pacman -Ql traceroute
traceroute /usr/
traceroute /usr/sbin/
traceroute /usr/sbin/traceroute

I submitted a bug in the Arch Bugs page, which you can see to the following link:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/6328
UPDATE
The package package has been updated to include the manual page of traceroute for section 8 but not the manual page for section 1m. So I requested the re-opening of this task to ask once more for the manual page of section 1m. I guess that there are still some system administrators that don't allow their users to access manual pages of section 8.

By default we allow users to read section 8 of the manpages. Also, when traceroute was in /usr/sbin, it worked fine for regular user accounts on a standard archlinux installation.
I moved the binary to /usr/bin to "fix" the bug, and I allowed the package to install its standard manpage. This should be enough IMHO.

Well, is the manual page of section 1m deprecated and in the other distributions too?

Yes, check Debian for example:
http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/sear … &arch=i386
The only difference between their traceroute and ours is that they use some alternatives system because they have multiple traceroute packages, and the fact that they have a /usr/share/doc dir.
