New Dell monitor loses HDMI signal after sleep

Hello,

I am running Arch linux with nvidia drivers. I had a Samsung monitor before this Dell monitor and I had no issues. Since using this dell monitor, when switching inputs between DP and HDMI, sometimes I lose connection to my Arch install. If I put Arch to sleep the monitor will not reconnect the signal, instead showing a HDM1 is not receiving a signal.

I've tried to switch inputs on both the monitor as well as my Nvidia GPU. I also changed out the HDMI wires (using the original cable that came with the monitor).

Can someone help me debug this? I looked under dmesg and journalctl -b and couldn't find anything.

The monitor likely unregisters and on return fails the handshake.
Does it help to switch to a different VT and back?
