Hi!
I use MATE Desktop environement with Xorg server (so, not Wayland) and LightDM. A few days ago MATE Screenshot app started to behave strangely, as it could take the picture (whole screen, area, whatever, all working) but when I select Save it cannot save the file.
The cursor become the loading cursor, the buttons go gray, but the actual file saving does not happen, even for a tiny picture several minutes. I usually kill it.
I checked several things before posting:
- The permission of the folder is correct
- The disk is not full (nor in size, nor in inode capacity)
- It does not matter, which folder I select, saving the picutre seems impossible to the program
- If I start it from terminal, it prints out nothing. No assertion error, no bug, nothing.
Please help me what I should check? This application is somewhat crucial in my work, I cannot do my job without it for long.

You can search the forums for recent spectacles surrounding gdk-pixbuf2 and glycin to get the answer why. The solution I chose was to replace gdk-pixbuf2 with gdk-pixbuf2-noglycin (AUR).

Thank you! This solved the issue, I can work now.

Upgrading gdk-pixbuf2 to version 2.44.2 broke mate-screenshot. Downgrade to 2.44.1 and mate-screenshot will work fine again.
