Is there an alternative Date&Time (Clock) Applet for KDE?

I am not satisfied with the Clock applet, that comes with KDE, because you can not really configure, how date & time is shown. If you want to have the date with name of weekday + time, it always shows the time on the left side, and the date on the right side.

I really would like to have the possiblility, to revert that order, and to modify the shown info with variables, like it is possible in the XFCE4.4.0 clock applet.

Precisely I want to have time & date shown this way: Donnerstag, 01.02.2007 (KW 5) 20:03

(whereas the date would better fit in 2 lines to make it less long, and the time bigger and bold, BTW 'Donnerstag' means thursday, and 'KW 5' is week 5)

I already searched on kde-apps.org, but to no avail.

Any hint?

The only other thing I know that you could do is use another app that isn't necessarily integrated into KDE. Like superkaramba or adesklets. You can also configure conky to show the date if that helps any.

conky only works on KDE's desktop (out of the box) if you hide all desktop icons.  In fact I use conky for my clock as well in KDE (and any other DE/WM.

Thanks foe the input, guys, but I need it as applet for the control-bar, because my screen is usually filled with windows, and I am really used to have date&time always in sight.

Is there a way to use XFCE applets in KDE (as it's possible to use gnome applets in XFCE)?
Or is there any other place than kde-apps.org where to get applets from?

Hehe, I stopped wearing a clock long time ago , but I always have to look to the upper right corner of my screen, where I have placed time&date in the control-bar. I just don't feel comfortable, if it's not there.

Have you looked in the kickerrc file to see if you can fine tune the options?

What about a clock widget from Opera? Not KDE related but they do look nice.

I already checked the config files, but KDE's clock applet just does not seem to offer any more config possibilities. That's really a little weak, the XFCE applet indeed is more advanced.
Didn't check on Opera, because I don't really like it, and I have no intention to install it.

Is there really no other place to look for KDE kicker applets?

you could also hack the clock applet a bit from what i have seen so far, it should be not that hard, maybe just re-order some stuff ...

hacosta, the StyleClock looks nice, but it's advantage is its themeability, but not its configureability, and as seen from the configure screenshow, there is nothing there to allow my requested feature.

funkyou, do you really think, you can hack the clock applet? I definitely can't, I am not a coder. I already would be glad, if the order of clock&date could be reversed, and the week in form of "(KW 5)" be added to the date, but the ultimate approach is in the XFCE4.4.0 clock applet, where you can just enter the required info in form of variables directly in the config menu.
