[SOLVED] accidentally deleted /home/user/.cache/yay directory

i am new to linux so pardon me for overlooking some basic things

i accidentally remove the .cache/yay directory and yay doesnt work now. i reinstalled yay and ran yay -Scc but it still doesnt work. for eg:

[satat@arch-btw ~]$ yay -S brave-bin
AUR Explicit (1): brave-bin-1:1.83.118-1
:: (0/1) Failed to download PKGBUILD: brave-bin
-> error fetching brave-bin: fatal: could not create work tree dir 'brave-bin': Permission denied
         context: exit status 128

The big question is why your user didn't have write permissions to it's own home dir.
