Hi there.
I have a situation where I haven't updated my Arch setup for a month,
today, when I tried to suspend my computer via sleep, my computer just started making loud noises from the fans while the screen was off.

Is it desktop or laptop? What model is it? Do you also have Windows installed on it?
Did you read this?
And post full output of command 'sudo journalctl -b-n' where 'n' is number of post ago in

tags.

I have same issue. Suspend is broken with kernel 6.17.1. Workaround is to downgrade back to 6.16.10

As a beginner tried to fix this problem for like several days. Was tinkering grub config, nvidia one, logind, sleep, reinstalling drivers and other ways - none had any positive effect. And now it got fixed by simple downgrading (quick reminder - don't forget to downgrade your GPU drivers likewise). Feeling kinda dumb tbh...
Thanks a lot for the hint!

It's my desktop and I have no Windows on it.
I can't put all journal output but there is everything about swap in it:

sudo journalctl -b -δ | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st # adjust δ but if you reboot w/ the power button that won't tell us much.

With linux-lts it works again.
Tried also with 6.17.4.arch2-1 (manually upgraded with pacman -U). Problem still exists.
and yes, with B550 AORUS ELITE V2 i use fix mentioned as "PC will not wake from sleep on A520I and B550I motherboards" in the Arch wiki - https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … therboards

Yes. It works with 6.16.10.arch1-1. Manually downloaded from archive.archlinux.org and downgraded via pacman -U

@c09e75 & Bagetak - also amdgpu, same pattern?
Was tinkering grub config, nvidia one
but is there also an AMD GPU?

Possibly https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/4649
https://pkgbuild.com//~gromit/linux-bisection-kernels/ has the rc kernels so you could test whether https://pkgbuild.com//~gromit/linux-bis … kg.tar.zst is still good for you.

Can confirm the patch attached to the bug report works! (compiled 6.17.5-arch1 with this patch and suspend now works!
). Unfortunately, it doesn't look ready to merge/backport into any kernel (it still has debug printk's and upstream isn't quite sold on the patch).

Yaay, I have also rx 6700 xt and exactly same problem as it's described in the bug report.
