Internet is not working when using portmaster and Proton VPN together

Hey, i have configured portmaster with Mullvad DNS and when i connect to proton VPN, i am unable to use internet. when i close the portmaster and use proton VPN only then internet is working but when i use portmaster along with proton VPN internet is not working.
I have switched to Arch 3 days ago, before that i was using Linux Mint and in that i was able to use both at the same time. When i was connected to proton VPN its DNS was being used and when i disconnected the VPN then Mullvad DNS configured in portmaster was being used.
do anyone know what is the issue and how can i use portmaster and proton VPN together.

What do you mean with Mullvad DNS ? I wasn't able to find the ip address for that service. Are you talking about using the HTTPS over DNS service in the mullvad browser ?

Please also tell us what is your networking configuration that are you using so we can help. Are you using network manager + iwd or some different stack ?

As I can tell you Linux configuration for DNS are in the /etc/resolv.conf file. Probably you will need to edit that file in order portmaster can work.

I am using Network manager with iwd 3.10-1
I am using Mullvad DNS, DOT(DNS over TLS) configuration provided on their website https://mullvad.net/en/help/dns-over-ht … s-over-tls
Mullvad DNS severs which i am using in portmaster:
dot://base.dns.mullvad.net?ip=194.242.2.4&name=MullvadDNS&blockedif=empty
dot://base.dns.mullvad.net?ip=2a07:e340::4&name=MullvadDNS&blockedif=empty

I manually made the DNS server for portmaster using Mullvad DNS configuration. on the portmaster website it is mentioned that how to make your own DNS server address for portmaster. As Mullvad DNS address is not available on portmaster hence i have to make one as per their instruction. https://docs.safing.io/portmaster/guide … figuration

I am using Mullvad DNS system wide. when i am only using portmaster, Mullvad DNS is working system wide as i have already checked in every browser using DNS leak checker and its all showing Mullvad DNS servers. but when i am turning on the proton VPN, internet stops working. My Wi-Fi is still connected but i am unable to browse the internet. In my previous Linux mint system portmaster and Proton VPN worked together without any issue.

Both portmaster and Proton VPN separately working fine but together they are not working

Can you share the logs of proton vpn when you are trying to connect with the portmaster application ? Launch protonvpn from a terminal and send the output over here. I don't think it's because you are using DoT instead of DoH in the dns

Can you post it using one of the methods mentioned please ? It just to know what proton vpn is saying to you when you try to use it with portmaster, because I'm assuming you had read this also: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/ProtonVPN and I don't think you misconfigured something since you are saying that both applications work individually
