hello!
i have an issue with headphones on arch linux - when i connect headphones it takes around 3 seconds for them to be recognized and for the audio to start playing through them. this is mildly annoying, at least to me.
i checked with `pactl info` and it's confirming what i'm experiencing, the default sink is "alsa_output.pci-0000_c2_00.6.HiFi__Speaker__sink" and turns to "alsa_output.pci-0000_c2_00.6.HiFi__Headphones__sink" roughly after 3 seconds after i connect the headphones. when disconnecting the headphones, it's basically instant for the sink to turn back.
i'm not sure how to showcase the occurence of the issue in a text form, but here's a video i took that shows what's going on: https://0x0.st/KLqY.mp4
i am using pipewire for audio:
$ pacman --query | grep pipewire
libpipewire 1:1.4.9-1
pipewire 1:1.4.9-1
pipewire-alsa 1:1.4.9-1
pipewire-audio 1:1.4.9-1
pipewire-jack 1:1.4.9-1
pipewire-pulse 1:1.4.9-1
pipewire-session-manager 1:1.4.9-1i don't have any custom configurations in /etc/pipewire:
$ tree /etc/pipewire/
/etc/pipewire/
├── client-rt.conf.d
├── client.conf.d
├── jack.conf.d
├── minimal.conf.d
├── pipewire-pulse.conf.d
└── pipewire.conf.d
7 directories, 0 fileswhat's weird is that i have basically the exact same setup (arch linux, i3, pipewire with the same packages) on another laptop and it doesn't do this, it works as intended over there. but on this one the headphone thing was an issue ever since the start, so i suspect it to be device-specific. i'm not exactly sure how to try to troubleshoot it though - there's nothing happening in the journal when i plug or unplug the headphones. any ideas on what i could try? thanks in advance!
