Elantech ETPS/2 Touchpad Not working

Hello Everyone, Newbie Here so basically I have an HP laptop and I just dual boot installed arch with windows- and my touchpad seems to not be working
I have tried fixes along the lines
sudo cat /proc/bus/input/devices | grep -A5 -i elantech
sudo dmesg |grep -i elantech
echo "options psmouse elantech_smbus=0" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf

But none of the general fixes have worked here is some of my system information
Laptop Model: Hp-ec0043ax
Touchpad : ETPS/2 based
Some information I have collected
Kernel version: 6.12.56-1-lts

sudo dmesg |grep -i elantech

I have tried parameters like
elantech_smbus=0
elantech_smbus=0 proto=imps
elantech_smbus=1 proto=imps

Any solution would be much appreciated Since I am just transitioning to linux
Signing off, Hitos

Re: Elantech ETPS/2 Touchpad Not working

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 2#p2270712 maybe give that a shot? If you unsure about compiling your own kernel I have a tree lying around I might get to, but I won't be able to attempt that before tomorrow evening (assuming I don't forget, if loqs or gromit sees this first, feel free smile )
