I've only recently switched to arch linux on my main desktop and have not been using linux for very long before that so bare with me and my simpleton-mind, please.
I'm trying to use the usb-c audio port on my ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING motherboard. I'm just trying to plug in a headset with an aux cable and an aux to usb cable. This configuration works in Windows 11 and used to work in Bazzite as well. I can still connect the headset directly to the aux port and that does let the audio play, however I want to use the aux to usb cable for the longer overall length.
So far I've only tried restarting pipewire and wireplumber and trying to find the source for the usb-c port without luck.
I have also read that asus' usb-c audio port can be bs in linux so I'm wondering if it just does not get read by arch unlike fedora.
Any help or useful insight is appreciated and I will try my best to understand ![]()

Fixed it, so I'm going to explain what I did in case anyone else ever faces this issue too.
What fixed it for me was opening pavucontrol and changing the audio controller in 'Configuration' to 'Pro Audio'. For me it was called "Family 17h/19h/1ah HD Audio Controller" and it has 4 options, three of which are the aux ports at the back. From what it looked like the output and input options were also the ones I'd need to switch to for the front panel audio connectors.
