GNOME 49 (Wayland) — Screen no longer blanks automatically

Hi,

After upgrading to GNOME 49 on Wayland, the screen no longer blanks automatically after the configured idle timeout. It stays on indefinitely, even though the timeout is set correctly under Settings → Power and Settings → Privacy → Screen.
This worked fine on previous GNOME versions.

Has anyone else noticed this, or found a workaround?

Another detail: gdm does not work anymore with my gnome+wayland. I am running lightdm
