I would like to know your opinions on Gnome 2.16 ; I have been using 2.14 for a whole year and I was wondering if upgrading to 2.16 will worth it , what are the main differences between these versions, aside from many bugfixes?

It has better power managment, and consumes less memory while being a little bit snappier (not much though). It also handle removeable devices and fixed HD (automounts them and such) without much effort.

After jumping ship and going to kde. Gnome 2.16 brought me back, don't know what is but it seems a lot more enjoyable to use, although I still switch into e17 for some things and I keep playing with fvwm, 80% of the time I use gnome

It's faster than 2.14 and eats less memory.

Well, that depends. Gnome 2.16 has improved a lot of things, take look here:
Gnome 2.15.99 Release Notes
If there is nothing among the improvements i'd want, i wouldn't update.
