Via Unichrome -Troubleshooting

I am using the following Video Hardware: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8378 [S3 UniChrome] Integrated Video (rev 01)

I don't get Direct Rendering on vesa drivers.
I tried using xf86-video-via drivers - x wouldn't start with those drivers.
I tried openchrome drivers - x started alright, but the resolution was very poor. The refresh rate at 800*600 was around 70 Hz, while I got 85 Hz on vesa. I still got DRI working on openchrome though, but I couldnt get 1024x768 working.

I have kernel-2.6.19-ARCH.
Xorg.conf : http://pastebin.ca/341458

The Xorg.0.log (part of file):
II) VIA(0): VIAMapMMIO
(--) VIA(0): mapping MMIO @ 0xfa000000 with size 0x9000
(--) VIA(0): mapping BitBlt MMIO @ 0xfa200000 with size 0x10000
(II) VIA(0): vgaHWGetIOBase: hwp->IOBase is 0x03d0, hwp->PIOOffset is 0x0000
(--) VIA(0): Chipset Rev.: 0
(EE) VIA(0): Unknown Card-Ids (3344|1122); please report to openchrome-users@openchrome.org
(II) VIA(0): Detected MemClk 6

--(Update) I tried using the xf86-video-unichrome drivers, and the 1024x768 mode was available, although the colours were a bit dull. The option 1024x768 at 60 Hz was available.

Similarly, the hardware ran fine on ubuntu, and Ubuntu uses the same module "via" in xorg.conf, tried to use the xorg.conf for arch. Didn't work with the openchrome drivers.
I suppose that narrows it down to the drivers as the problem causers.

Sorry for the double posts. I didn't know it doesnt allow big files such as Xorg.0.log.
