Creative audigy SE [not really solved]

I have this soundcard and I have no problems with playback, but some days ago I tried to install and use skype, but I can't figure out how to enable de microphone. I can't find the control using alsa-mixer.

Any clues?

It might be due to the dbus upgrade. Check the front page news for more info.

Re: Creative audigy SE [not really solved]

It's solved... the /etc/group was updated for some reason and I wasn't in the audio group anymore. I also saw that I wasn't in any of the groups I was before.

Re: Creative audigy SE [not really solved]

The /etc/group shouldn't be updated automaitically. Do you have a :

NoUpgrade   = etc/group

in your pacman.conf?

No, look here:

[radu@kyle ~] cat /etc/pacman.conf | grep NoUpgrade
NoUpgrade   = etc/passwd etc/group etc/shadow etc/sudoers
NoUpgrade   = etc/fstab etc/raidtab etc/ld.so.conf
NoUpgrade   = etc/rc.conf etc/rc.local
NoUpgrade   = etc/modprobe.conf etc/modules.conf
NoUpgrade   = etc/lilo.conf boot/grub/menu.lst

So... what happened? I have a 0.8 installation, if this matters.

Unless I'm missing something, pacman should've left your /etc/group file untouched and created a /etc/group.pacnew file. Do you have that file?

Re: Creative audigy SE [not really solved]

yes, I have it and it has the same content as /etc/group had before I added myself to the audio, camera and wheel groups, when I had the issues.

Re: Creative audigy SE [not really solved]

So, I found out why it wasn't working after update, but the problem about the microphone is still here. Any ideas?

Later edit: don't bother, here's what I found on the alsaproject.org page:

Digital/Analog input does not work yet. Needs more development work.
