Headset microphone doesn't work while internal laptop microphone works

Hello. I've recently been trying to make my headset's microphone work on my laptop, but only the internal laptop microphone seems to work (and only in certain applications, it works on Whatsapp through Firefox but not Discord). The sound output works fine, be it through my headphones or the laptop's speakers.

I've never done a real audio setup on this distribution (I've tried following some threads to deal with this issue, but nothing really helped and I ended up just creating and deleting some random files/directories)  and would like to know how I could get started on fixing this issue.

You need to try and record something that doesn't work for most of these outputs to give something useful, you're not attempting to record anything in those outputs.

In addition to reposting them during actual recording, what does 'amixer -c0' give you?
