Hi everyone,
I'm new to ArchLinux (installed it today), coming from W11. I'm not, however, new to Linux. Up until 2020 I used Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora. I've also managed multiple CentOS LAMPP servers over the years. Now that I'm back to using linux, there is one pretty big difference in the way I organize my files: I now have a NAS running and use smb to access my shares. I'm using KDE Plasma.
Is it possible to show thumbnail previews while accessing my shares? Right now, only the generic icons are shown, even though file preview is turned on. When I copy the files to my local SSD the thumbnails work out of the box, for example thumbnails of my photo's. Just not over smb. With thousands of photo's, it'll be difficult to find the correct one in a folder with 100 of them without tumbnails.
I could be looking in the wrong place, but I did read the wiki article about the file manager, specifically the part about thumbnail previews (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/File_manager_functionality, kudos to the archlinux team for that by the way, its rare to find such a clear wiki that's straight to the point). And like I mentioned, they work fine for local files. Just not the files through shares.

You can configure the "max size limit" for remote file thumbnails in dolphins settings: http://0x0.st/K41v.png

I must be blind. I've stared at the config screen for Dolphin for i don't know how long and didn't find that. Thanks! It's working perfectly now.
