I dont know my monitor's sync boundaries(samsung doesnt list them) for xorgconfig and X -configure seems to fail. I'm running arch64. Anything I could do to remedy this problem?
Thanks!

didn't you find any information about your model's sync on internet ?
Last week I found a xorg.conf on ubuntu.something that just gave me this for a brand new Hanns-g 19" (vendor doesn't list this anywhere).
Seeded last month: Arch 50 gig, derivatives 1 gig
Desktop @3.3GHz 8 gig RAM, linux-ck
laptop #1 Atom 2 gig RAM, Arch linux stock i686 (6H w/ 6yrs old battery ) #2: ARM Tegra K1, 4 gig RAM, ChrOS

Samsung's site has the monitors's manual and those have the specifications you want (probably your manual has as well).

@adamb10: First, make sure you have the correct modules installed for xorg: xf86-video-radeon or whatever it's called.
@billy: The same as you would for any monitor. I've only once had a monitors specs not be auto-detected by X and that was corrected by adding VertRefresh 60 to xorg.conf.

Have you tried using fglrx?

Or quickly....
pacman -Sy hwd ati-fglrx
hwd -x
aticonfig --initial
vi /etc/rc.conf #add "fglrx" to the modules line in rc.conf, so Modules (fglrx)
reboot
#login
startx
