[Solved] Odd behaviour after monitor wake from suspend

I use headphones plugged into my monitor's headphone jack, and after I wake my monitor from what I believe is standby mode, I notice there is no sound in my headphones. Pavucontrol says the device is still available, but there is just no sound. if I plug the headphones into my motherboard then there is sound. I don't know why I'm typing like a caveman I just can't seem to find the right words xD
