Elan touchscreen deadspot at top of screen

I have an old Microsoft surface (I believe it is a 2) that I revived with arch to use as a study device for school. However, I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the touch screen. The touch screen seems to have a dead zone around the top portion. I am a noob so please be patient. I definitely threw myself into the deep end with this.
