Hello, first up my system setup:
I have a DELL latitude 7480
I went with hyprland (why easy, when it can be interesting)
I ran
sudo pacman -Syuso everything is up to date.
Now to the issue: My left mouse button (lmb), on USB and built in aren't working.
This was already the case while configuring the Bios, right click would highlight a button, but left click didn't do anything.
After setting up Arch, I checked in wev and my lmb didn't get reckognized, but the rmb and mmb did.
I checked in .config/hypr/hyprland.conf - i have the autogenerated config, the lmb is set up correct according to the wiki.
I ran
sudo libinput debug-eventsand there lmb DOES get reckognized.
To expand the issue - the laptop has two sets of trackpads, one rubber-nub with a top set of lmb mmb and rmb, and a touchpad with lmb rmb at the bottom.
The top lmb gets reckognized by debug-events (lmb from a usb mouse does aswell), the bottom does not.
All other buttons and movements work properly - SUPER rmb can resize, I can scroll etc.
I have tried deactivating intertouch in the grub config, and on some boots the top lmb functions now, on most it doesn't.
Maybe the bottom lmb is physically broken, i bought the laptop used (but in good condition) and didn't check if all keys worked - I can settle with one working lmb.
Thanks in advance!

The top lmb gets recognized by debug-events (lmb from a usb mouse does as well), the bottom does not.

Can you deactivate the touchpad in the UEFI?
Otherwise see https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … h-libinput
The unfortunate scenario I could envision is that switch of the (pot.) broken button is permanently closed, if your left mousebutton is constantly pressed, blocking the other devices from being handled…

Yes, I unplugged the bottom switches and the left click is no longer blocked.
I will order new ones at some point.
Thanks for the help!
