[SOLVED]Nvidia GPUs: pacman hook no longer required?

Hello,

I was doing research in the Arch Wiki, and noticed that the pacman hook is no longer in the wiki.

I would like to know if the hook is still required if not using DKMS.

Re: [SOLVED]Nvidia GPUs: pacman hook no longer required?

The mkinitcpio hooks were expanded to react to file changes in /extramodules/ which will retrigger an initramfs rebuild whenever the kernel module for nvidia changes. So basically what the hook intended to do got integrated into the default mkinitcpio hook. The history entry of the removal explains as much as well: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?ti … did=852109 (though you might need an account to view that, thank AI bots for that)
