I am running gnome de, when enabled testing and fully updated, after reboot no sound at all....
Checked outputs via volume app and sound settings to see only "dummy output" ![]()
Downgraded both packages back to ver 1.2.14, sound works fine again!
Sorry, I did not have time to investigate further, will be away from home for some days, so I suggest to hold the packages in testing until someone can double check this.

I'm seeing something similar, using Pipewire. Seems like all the digital sound profiles are gone with the update. I didn't notice this on my headset at first, since it outputs sound on analog stereo. But HDMI sound was gone until I switched over to the Pro audio profile. Regular digital HDMI stereo is gone.
I downgraded and all the digital profiles are back.
EDIT: Seems to be tracked upstream: https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-lib/issues/488

Thanks for replying and the link with this issue; forgot to mention, I am also on pipewire.
Hope it gets resolved soon.

for me, sound still works but I can only select Stereo output although the soundchip on my Asus TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS supports up to 7.1 and I use a 5.1 setup. Downgrading alsa-lib to 1.2.14 fixes it

Has anyone filed a bug on the Arch bug tracker? Posting here will do nothing to keep this in testing or get a fix backported.

With the new 1.2.15.1 version in testing, everything works again.
