Probably solved: Package conflicts since today (because of 404)

Hello!

It started with pamac GUI having an update available, which of course always fails without some aimless fiddling around until it worked somehow, and having to uninstall pamac.

I then wanted to first do a console (pacman) update as usual in this case:

So I cannot continue fixing things .. What should I do?

Edit: OK, after a lot of retires it's working. The servers are available now, but still it would be nice how to workaround this issue in case it happens again.

That looks like you invoked `pacman -Su` instead of `pacman -Syu`.

Next time you’re providing the output, prepend the command with `LANG=C` to get English:

Thanks! I actually tried doing the language swap with my last try, but I always forget how it works, so I entered 'LC_all=en_US-utf-8 sudo pacman -Syu' instead. I wonder if the language swap might have been the reason why the servers where then working again? Like it chose other servers because of a specific assumed region to download form, derived from the language or so?

The language should have no effect on the servers, it uses the order of servers in your mirrorlist.

As for quickly setting the language, I use a shell alias. You can see it in my signature, the english version I use has proper language-independent date formatting.

XX is a custom locale downloaded from the link (xyne.dev). Just use any you like, the easiest option is

alias CUTF=LANG=C.UTF-8
