[SOLVED]Updating to `nvidia-open` problem
CUDA is not available.
nvidia-smi
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.Lately, the cursor has been stuttering and dragging. Every 2-3 seconds, a turbo fan sound comes from the case for no reason. The cursor sometimes jumps around or suddenly skips. There's also some lag on the keyboard. Sometimes the keys don't register. Even though I replaced the keyboard. Especially 2-3 keys like `p` and `.`. But right now, the non-registration problem is much rarer. Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V work by pressing the keys 4-5 times repeatedly. Otherwise, copying/pasting doesn't work smoothly. SPECIFICALLY: It detects when the Enter key is pressed twice. For example, if the `sudo` command is run and it asks for a password, the first response is always `incorrect password` because it sent nothing since the Enter key was pressed twice.
The computer is lagging and for some reason is currently using 60-80% CPU. It jumps from 20-30 to 60-80 suddenly and does this constantly. Even when the widget shows 40-50, the turbo fan is running. How can I check the current widget, and which widget/package would you recommend to show RAM/CPU/GPU usage (including fans)?
Only Firefox is open. 20 tabs open.

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.
Is this still the case?

I think they've removed support for the Nvidia 1050 Ti. It says the `nvidia` package couldn't be found. Most recently, Wayland didn't have a start menu or any files on the desktop.

Remove the 470xx dkms kernel, then nvidia-470xx-dkms and then try again.

Weird. When i try to uninstall wrong packages it says `not found`. And after I try to install `nvidia-580xx-dkms` its `reinstalling` somehow. And its installed. Even tho:

If you updated but didn't reboot the kernel is running the 470xx module but the userspace uses the 580xx libraries.
pacman -Qs nvidia
dkms statusYou'll always be able to boot the multi-user.target w/ "nomodeset"

Sorry, I didn't understand that. I'm in Xorg now but Wayland will work or can't use Wayland anymore ?

Why not? There's no reason to assume it would not work.
