[SOLVED / WORKED AROUND] hp-plugin failing: checksum mismatch

I had to reinstall my Archinux PC.
The hp-plugin tool included in packages "extra/hplip 1:3.25.8-1" is now failing with this error:

$ hp-plugin -i

Removing the ~/.hplip directory doesn't help.
Any hint?

Re: [SOLVED / WORKED AROUND] hp-plugin failing: checksum mismatch

I worked the issue around myself with these steps:

1. Point your browser to HP support page
2. Download the latest files (two of them, one is named ".run" and one ".run.asc" in the same local directory.
3. Start the "hp-plugin -i" tool and select option "p  Specify a path to the plug-in"
4. Enter the full path of the ".run" file, file name included.
5. After the "INSTALLING PLUG-IN" is displayed, press ENTER (it is not requested, but it is waited for)
6. Enter your "sudo-enabled user" password

Done!

This IS NOT the solution: it's a workaround.
Solution would be to make the package working properly.

Thank you so much! I've been unable to print for months and your post helped me sort it out.
