icewm acting strange since system upgrade

Everything was working fine until a power outage this morning. I shut down gracefully. Later, power is back, and as typical, I take advantage of a freshly booted system to do pacman -Syu.  It ran fine. Now I'm in my usual X11 desktop running icewm, except some things work strange concerning window title bars.

If I click on the title bar, it doesn't raise the window. Normally it should.  If I right-click on a title bar, I ought to get the right-click contextual menu (with Resize, Minimize, Raise, Lower and so on) but I also get the Windows List. If I right-click on the thin window frame along the sides, top or bottom, it works like normal. Also, clicking on the content of the window brings it up like normal. Title bar is what acts weird.  Affects all software with a window, Firefox, some MIDI virtual keyboards, Blender, GIMP, text editors, all have badly behaving icewm titlebars.

I'm guessing there's a bug in icewm or a library it depends on, or something related to X11 or the graphics card driver has a bug.  Anyone else having this problem?

Re: icewm acting strange since system upgrade

Did your last update include icewm (Last Updated: 2025-10-16 01:54 UTC)?
Do eg. openbox or fluxbox  exhibit the same behavior?
Mouse or touchpad?
Do you have another mouse?

Re: icewm acting strange since system upgrade

I installed fresh batteries in the mouse. No difference.

What worked was a full reboot. In the fresh icewm session, I opened only one thing at a time, a text editor, Thunar, an image viewer, Firefox, etc. each time checking for the trouble. No trouble. Now it's the 30th and still no trouble.  Problem is not reproducible.

Must have been a "cosmic ray" maybe a one-bit glitch in executable code in RAM, or some weird bug occurring only when there's a zillion Firefox or image viewer windows up.
