Hi!
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought this is the right place.
During some searching for printer drivers I found this article: http://forums.freestandards.org/read.ph … 45#msg-845
Does anybody know if Arch already supports this printers or if anything like that is planed in the near future?
Thanks!

As these drivers are meant for LSB 3.2 compliant distro's and AL is NOT lsb compliant (developer's choice) they will not work out of the box on arch.
They will also be distributed as rpm packages, so we probably would need to make special packages to make them comply with archlinux packaging standards.
The real question is what advantage converting many packages will give arch users and is that enough to warrant the amount of work ?
personally i'll stick to using .ppd files to setup a printer with cups.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
