Dear all,
recently, as part of system upgrade was upgraded to new, nvidia-open drivers, card family is Turing which worked quite well both in gaming and other tasks despite all of the quirks of Nvidia drivers on Linux. Nevertheless after said upgrade, begun to experience issues starting various games running with hotfix, experimental or proton-ge variants, interestingly proton 10 is running the games normally without visible issues.
Example of error messages received when starting games:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Cannot create DX11 device:
‘Adapter (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER)
Windowed
Resolution 25601440, format RSGEBEAB_UNORM,
refresh 0 Hz
Error E_FAIL
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
or the other one:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Failed to create a graphics device
“This might be because you have more than one
screen/graphics card.
You could try to write adapter file in the settings.txt
and:
The graphics card detected does not support Shader
Model 3.0
Europa Universalis IV require at least Shader Model
3.0 to work propery.

Have done some preliminary testing/troubleshooting, installed 580xx drivers from AUR, no issue observed, installed https://github.com/Frogging-Family/nvidia-all latest 590 driver BUT WITH support for older hardware, again, no problem observed.
Please recommend a way forward! Is this a possible issue for Valve Proton or could be there something else to adjust?
