SDDM + Hyprland issues with nvidia gpu

So for starters:
hyprland hangs on start, sddm flashes black and dies. this is sddm journalctl logs

oh actually i forgot i changed to jakoolit's hyprland, but it never failed like this b4, so i presume its an issue elsewhere...

I had some problems too, which for me went away when switching sddm to wayland mode:

Might at least be worth a try, for me it works better, even if it's still treated as experimental.

Yeah i tried that, didn't work at all. it's related completely to my gpu

So did it work before, or is it not working since install?
Otherwise, what was updated or changed since it last was working?
