Hi! It's been a while since I last posted over here. I am having some issues with a couple of old industrial mini PCs that were discarded in my workplace, as I am trying to give them some use. I plan on doing a separate post for each one, since the issues are different and the platforms themselves are quite different as well. The one I'm fighting with now is a VIA AMOS-3005. Its specs are:
- CPU: VIA Eden C4250 x4 (x86-64 compatible)
- RAM: 4 GB DDR3
- Graphics: VIA C640 (advertises compatibility with DX11)
- Audio: VIA VT2021 HDA
- Drive: mSATA SSD (128 GB)
- Network: Dual Realtek RTL8111 GbE
There are some other details, but I think this is the list with the most important stuff. So far I can install and boot Ubuntu 20.04, but nothing else. When I try to boot the Arch Linux USB live installer, it tries to boot and then, at some point, it just reboots. I guess that could indicate some sort of panic, and I am strongly pointing towards that uncommon CPU being the culprit (maybe some missing or broken instructions, I don't know). Any help is highly appreciated!
