Laptop freezes upon startup, works until I stop moving my mouse

i have a framework 13 amd, had it for a few months now, and occasionally it will freeze and need to be restarted, which was annoying, but always fixed itself after a reboot or two. this happened again today, but now every time i reboot it will freeze immediately after log in, or if im moving my mouse around as it boots, as soon i stop moving my mouse. i can log in fine, shell works if i boot into that (system update did not fix it), but once kde boots, as soon as my mouse stops moving it freezes immediately. i can even open an application if i keep my mouse moving long enough. anyway i dont know if this is an issue with plasma or arch or the laptop, if anyone else has experienced this and fixed it please let me know. i don't really know much about computers so apologies if there isn't much information to go on here. i also rouldn't find any errors that seemed to explain it in journalctl but i didnt really know what to look for either

edit: i let the screen turn off while it was frozen and it fixed itself??? solved i guess but if anyone knows whats up with my computer please let me know

Please share the journal from the affected boot:

journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

If the system froze and you had to reboot, also share the previous boot:

journalctl -b -1 | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

I think I may have the same issue (also on KDE Wayland with an AMD card), but haven't managed to figure out what's the actual cause of this.

For what it's worth, I managed to briefly unfreeze it (trying to switch to a TTY with CTRL+ALT+F2 seemed to have some effect) and do a kwin_wayland --replace. No freezes since then..

Just tried this and did a few reboots and it seems to have solved the issue. Thanks!

tried the command here and it said that no such directory exists. also tried kwin_wayland --replace but that did not seem to work either

You can actually just update the system, the latest ddcutil update has the offending commit reverted.
