i3 System hard freezes on suspend/resume

Ok I have booted to multi-user.target
I can no more run i3 through

 exec i3

but xfce runs

 startxfce4

and the top bar, applications just vanishes for splits seconds and it keeps happening, this started happening since closing lid first time with xfce.

I have changed kernel parameters as well according to this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=306526 added all three but not the iommu=soft one. I'm still waiting for further steps.

The flickering/vanishing is still there but now the contents are going away and not the outside bars surrounding it.

Thank you changin those 3 parameters have worked have worked, but there is some flash right before the screen opens up again. Although now I can resume from suspend and closing lid. I had at start disabled the nvidia suspend resume hibernate targets and now had renabled them. The issue of suspend appears to be fixed but there is still the flickering/vanishing happening in xfce.

nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off

addresses the nvme (the first parameter exclusively)

Does xfce4-panel crash and restart or is it configure to autohiding?
Do you encounter similar problems w/ i3?

That issue is also resolved with serting vblank to xpresent in composter of xfce xfwm. It was there in some other thread in forum. I suppose you can close this thread.

that alone didn't change anything. With all 3 parameters it was working

See whether it's just pcie_aspm=off
