Niri screen recorder?

Greetings to all

I havent been able to find a working screen recorder for niri
the only one that works is OBS but i use that for big recordings
sometimes i just need to quickly record a section of my screen
preferably save it as gif, but any format will work
and i havent been able to find one that works other than OBS

anyone else had success with one?
i tried:
kooha
green-recorder
blue-recorder
vokoscreen
wayfarer

kooha gives me:

error kooha::window: failed to start recording caused by: 
0: failed to initialize pipeline state to playing 
1: element failed to change its state

vokoscreenNG gives me:

Start was clicked GST_STATE_CHANGE_FAILURE Returncode = 0

blue recorder gives me:

thread caused non-unwinding panic. aborting.

the rest just crashes with no warning

i do have gstreamer installed with gst-plugin-pipewire
and the good bad and ugly plugins also

i like the kooha interface and workflow, if anyone has gotten that to work with niri and could point me in the right direction it would be very awesome
