Re: [Solved]Random Reboot....why?

Thanks.

I’ll take another look, but I must admit I don’t understand much of what I saw in the file.

(My apologies, but I didn’t understand what you meant by your “man less” response.)

https://man.archlinux.org/man/less.1 allows you to read text files…
If you don't see anything obviously sensitive in there, upload the file and share the URL

Re: [Solved]Random Reboot....why?

Seth, I haven’t had a chance to look at the file you requested.  Perhaps I can tomorrow (Sunday).

I heard back from Mr. Salk.  Unfortunately, he was unable to explain the reboots.  He said he could probably figure out what is going on if he had the unit there, but suggested it would just be easier/faster to start over from scratch (fresh OS/Roon install and setup).

Given that I’m not experiencing any issues while using the Salkstream, and feedback here indicates these reboots are intentional and not due to malicious activity, I’m inclined not to go through the trouble of returning the Salkstream to Salk.  As an aside, it amazes me that Mr. Salk is still willing to help his customers years after retiring and for a 10 year old product (and he’s never charged me for his time with past issues!).

Re: [Solved]Random Reboot....why?

UPDATE

It’s been 15 days with no unexpected reboots.

Given that:
1.  The previous unexpected reboots appear intentional and benign (according to feedback in this thread)
2.  The reboots have never occurred while I’m using the Salkstream

I’m not motivated to go any further down the rabbit hole on this.  If it starts interfering with operation of the Salkstream, I may take Mr, Salk’s advice and just start fresh with the OS.

I want to thank everyone here for your time and patience helping me with this.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
