[solved] .webm file not working

Hi, I'm using KDE's Spectacle to record a test video and it generated a .webm file. When i tried to play it using VLC (my computer defaults to VLC), it displayed an error:

Codec not supported:
VLC could not decode the format "mpgv" (MPEG-1/2 Video)

What does this mean? and how do you fix it?

Re: [solved] .webm file not working

pacman -S vlc-plugins-base
By default VLC comes with no plugins so nothing will work

Already installed, reinstalled it. Still doesn't work, same issue, sadly.

I suppose https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … in-ffmpeg/ will do.
Edit: though there's also https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … gin-mpeg2/

Or try mpv lol

ffmpeg works! Hopefully it works for other formats too!
