Ethernet adapter stops after short time

I wanna install Arch Linux on a tablet PC https://onexplayerstore.com/products/on … 6880063782 that hasn't RJ45 Ethernet port, so I use an USB-C to RJ45 adapter https://www.hp.com/emea_africa-en/produ … 2101171066 but:
despite plugged before the PC boots archlinux-x86_64.iso, I need to replug it to make it work, an other PC (desktop PC) no need, it works already,
after about 1 minute, it stops (before pacstrap downoads all...) the other PC not this issue (I tested 2 minute

ping archlinux.org

).

So the issues come from the Super X? What to do?

Re: Ethernet adapter stops after short time

Please post your complete system journal for the boot after losing the dongle

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st

but it's probably related to https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … utosuspend

Re: Ethernet adapter stops after short time

It's a textblock -  assume the actual url is https://0x0.st/P99a.txt ?

The device shows up 2:22 into the boot, then 12s and 46s later seems to flicker?
Then, after 3:18 it's disconnected and 43s later reconnected. 5s later the journal ends.

Which of those events was you, manipulating the hardware?
It might be that the USB slot doesn't provide enough power for the dongle (the flicker) though it looks like all hubs are usb 3.1

Re: Ethernet adapter stops after short time

I:
booted archlinux-x86_64.iso
replugged the dongle, to get internet
about 1 minute later, it stopped
replugged the dongle, for your command
the command.

Not enough electricity? A 2500$ gaming PC? What to do?
USB-C 4.0, see my 1st link.

Re: Ethernet adapter stops after short time

So the flicker is legit, try to release tension from the dongle (suspend the cable so it's not pulling on the plug)

W/o ethernet… roll

Re: Ethernet adapter stops after short time

Breaking new: in fact on the desktop PC I plugged: USB-A to USB-C adapter + USB-C to RJ45 adapter (this PC hasn't USB-C), the Super X has also a USB-A 3.2 port, so using also this port: no issue! So a USB-C issue, I'll complain to onexplayer... Any other cases than mine?
