cups

i tried to install my printer using gtklp..it didnt detect nothing...ok tried using gnome-cups-manager...and..

what does it say when you type "lpinfo -v" and where is your printer connected (LPT, USB, ...)?

Try deleting  ~/.ICEAuthority You could do this while running the gui as they are automatically re-created.
