Thinkpad T460 can't wake up from sleep/suspend

Hi there.
After a full system upgrade(pacman -Syu) on Mar 26, I've noticed that my Thinkpad T460(model no. 20FMS2021B) can no longer wake from sleep properly. When i close the lid it enters suspend mode as intended, but when i open it, instead of waking up, the screen is off, Fn+Esc F1 F4 and power lights are glowing for a short period of time, and then they go off as well, leaving only power light to glow. At this point it laptop enters "sleep paralysis" mode or whatever and the only way to recover from this state is hard shutoff(Holding power button for 3 secs approx.).

To resolve this so far i've tried rolling back the kernel from 6.19.10 to 6.19.5. Didn't help. Updating to as of now most recent kernel 6.19.11 didn't help either.
Disabling TPM 2.0 didn't help either
I've tried running the system with battery ejected...still the same thing. So it's not an issue with the battery.
I've tried booting into a livecd of cachyos...and the issue is still there(maybe it was running the same upstream kernel ? I haven't checked)

Maybe updating the BIOS will do?(I haven't updated it since 2017) But this means installing Windows...which i kinda don't want to do sad
Bios ver: R06ET49W (1.23) Dated 2017-03-17
Also googling this version, it appears that others also have problems with it: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=428022

Any idea what can be done ?

What was in that update (/var/log/pacman.log)

the only way to recover from this state is hard shutoff

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboa … el_(SysRq) - nb. it needs to be explicitly enabled *before* the freeze and you want to give each step of the REISUB dance 3 seconds.

Edit: also do you still have a journal from a successful sleep/resume (notably to see whether you maybe changed between S3 and s2idle)
