[SOLVED]Internal Keyboard and Trackpad failed after update for MBA2014

I had installed Arch Linux on my old Macbook Air 2014, and it works smoothly(Actually that's the reason why I still use this old laptop)
Yesterday I ran `pacman -Syu` (haven't ran in about 1~2 weeks)
Then I rebooted the system, after that I found built-in keyboard and trackpad not working anymore, although USB keyboard and mouse still work perfectly
I tried switch to arch-lts but seems nothing improved.
Anyone met same issue? Or is there anymore info I should provide here for help?

What was updated (/var/log/pacman.log)?

It's actually a huge update, previous update was 04-08, at the end that's me trying to switch to lts...
Today I also tried to roll back to previous firmware, but still not working

I've also tried:

manually modprobe

sudo modprobe hid_apple
sudo modprobe bcm5974
sudo modprobe usbhid
sudo modprobe applespi

cat /proc/bus/input/devices

but can not see built-in mouse and keyboard

add

usbcore.autosuspend=-1

in boot config of limine

disable bluetooth by

sudo modprobe -r btusb btbcm btintel btrtl btmtk bluetooth

Hello, Seth.

The internal keyboard does not work even on multi-user.target / TTY. (isolate or set-default)

My setup is GDM, and I use both GNOME and Hyprland sessions, but the issue is not limited to the graphical session.

Relevant findings:
- The internal keyboard still works in the Limine menu.
- It also works fine in a live USB environment.
- In the installed Arch system, the internal keyboard and touchpad are enumerated as 05ac:820a and 05ac:820b.
- However, they produce no events in evtest.
- They also produce no raw data in /dev/hidraw5 and /dev/hidraw6.
- External USB keyboard and mouse work fine.

I'll probably try to rollback to an even earlier Arch Archive to see if I can make it work again.

The only low level stuff in your update would be hwdata and pciutils, but the hideraw situation is worrysome.
Sure you didn't also update the kernel, maybe earlier and only rebooted after the last update exposing the new kernel?
Or do you rely on some AUR package for this

I do have bunch of apps installed via yay, like kanata which got related with keyboard, I just had tried uninstalling some of them, but still does not working.

I bet it's something messed in my setup, so finally I tried a brand new installation with 6.19.11 with my usual routine, but after a clean installation... It's still not working!

Then I wondered maybe it's time to try Debian or something on this old laptop? Before I do that I tried a refresh installation once again but with default systemd-boot(previously with limine)

And It fixed !!! I don't know why, but it seems everything back to normal, now I'm in Gnome it's also working, I'll update once I fully recover the system.

Apparently not any package version, the update was likely truely coincidental.
Might be the hardware/limine failing to hand-off device control to the OS, could be as simple as a race control on atk/libps2/i8042/serio initialization.

If this happens again please post a complete system journal for an affected boot.
