Hello,
When I login to my "Plasma (Wayland)" session, my mouse is stucked at the middle of the screen and the brightness jumps to 100%.
The keyboard works.
I use the last open nvidia drivers (595.58.03-2) for dkms and opencl.
And Grub is configured with "nvidia-drm.modeset=1 nvidia-drm.fbdev=1 nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0" options.
I also try to disconnect/connect the mouse usb dongle without success.
What's more, I have no problem with my "Plasma (X11)" session.
I also have a Kubuntu 24.04 partition that runs smoothly on "Plasma (Wayland)" session.
hardware:
- Nvidia RTX5050
- Logitech M330 wireless

A few details:
1- RTX 5050:
I upgraded my GPU three weeks ago from a GTX 660 to an RTX 5050.
I also updated the Nvidia drivers from version 470 to 595.
2- Brightness increasing to 100%:
I have my monitor (Dell P2423) set to 10% brightness.
During my first tests of the Plasma (Wayland) session, apart from the mouse freezing, I received a message along the lines of (from memory) “Monitor power consumption will increase, confirm yes/no”.
After a few attempts, I realised I had to confirm using the monitor controls rather than the keyboard ![]()
So I selected “yes” and the screen brightness went up to 100%.
So now I have a frozen mouse and a screen that jumps from 10% to 100% brightness.
Problems with Plasma or the Nvidia drivers or ... ?
Thanks

Continued:
When I used the Meta key to access the KDE system settings, I noticed that in the ‘Mouse & Touchpad’ -> Mouse section, the ‘Logitech B330/M330/M3’ device was greyed out and the ‘Enable device’ box was unchecked and couldn't be ticked.
After doing some research online (thanks Le Chat Mistral), I opened the file ~/.config/kcminputrc and changed:
[libinput][..][..][Logitech B330/M330/M3]
Enable=false -> trueThe mouse is now working, even though the device is still greyed out in the KDE system settings, but with the ‘Enable device’ box ticked (champagne!!!
)
As for the screen, it always goes up to 100% brightness ![]()

End:
Brightness at 100%:
In the KDE System Settings, under Wayland, in the section:
‘Input & Output’ -> ‘Display & Screen’ -> ‘Display Settings’
simply uncheck the line:
Brightness: Control hardware brightness with the << DDC / CI >> feature
and everything will be back to normal ![]()
Sorry for the trouble.
PS: I can't [SOLVED] the title.
