1. Does Arch come with a firewall, or do I have to install one? Any recommendations?
2. I installed VLC Player. It works fine, except every time I open it, I get an error message that says:
Cannot Set Locale to ".
It's kinda annoying. How do I make it stop?
3. I can't figure out how to get K3B to install. I use GNOME. I typed pacman -S k3b and it installed a bunch of things, and gave me a message saying that I had to install kdebase. I did, and it won't open. Not even through terminal.
Edit - fixed this one.
4. How do I add my user to more groups? I know optical is burning, what is printing?

1. I don't think you need a firewall but in the Arch Wiki there's a page about firewalls
4. And again the wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pla … -root_user
If you have further questions, it is a good starting point to look into the Arch Wiki

A good firewall (and very easy to configure too) is Firestarter (pacman -Sy firestarter).

Could you please provide more detail about this? Which locale(s) should I uncomment?

Just whichever one you need. If you want US English, then en_US, Germany German de_DE, etc... You're the best judge for that.

if u don't know ur language code, what's ur language ?
btw the comamnd is
locale-gen
not locale.gen
edit:
language code asin: english:en ; german(deautsch):de ;
so it'd be ...
English UK > en_gb - as the uk is great britain and northern ireland.
English USA > en_US,
German Germany > de_DE
German Belgium > de_BE
i think it's recommended to uncomment (remove '#' from in from of the lines) both the iso and utf locales.
hope that helped
