[SOLVED]Systemd-boot goes into emergency mode

I was trying to install nvidia drivers on my dell laptop and I had some hiccups along the way which were fixed by updating the system using:

sudo pacman -Syu

And so I added the nvidia modules to the modules array in the mkinitcpio configuration file and rebuilt it using:

sudo mkinitcpio -P

I reboot my system and it goes into emergency mode after failing to mount the root partition.
I will add the journalctl logs later because I currently don't have access to the laptop.

Edit: removing the nvidia kernel modules from the modules array fixed this and the system is detecting the nvidia drivers like it should.
Not sure why this happened in the first place though.
