No audio on upgrade - speaker-test has no audio with no error

Hi, this is a continuation of a previous issue I ran into back in October

After running a system upgrade (the info on that upgrade can be found here) I have unfortunately run into the exact same issue, except even more unfortunately the previous fix (a fresh reinstall of pulseaudio and pulseaudio-alsa) does not work.

All solutions given in the previous post have not worked.
My guess is I could downgrade something and fix it, but I'm not sure what / if that would be a good idea.

Edit: I just checked alsa-info.sh, nothing of note there either (though you can still look at it if you want: https://pastebin.com/FkqpJsdP)

Another thing I forgot to mention is that there is a quiet but very noticeable static sound coming from my headphones whenever my computer is on.

Done, rebooted, did not fix it unfortunately

Re: No audio on upgrade - speaker-test has no audio with no error

Remove pulseaudio-alsa

You've 4 sound devices, 0 & 3 are some USB device (headphones?), 1 & 2 are HDMI - where do you actually expect the sound?

Removed pulseaudio-alsa, still nothing

I expect audio out of the HyperX QuadCast S USB Audio device.

What is the other USB device? What happens when you remove that?

Re: No audio on upgrade - speaker-test has no audio with no error

alsa.long_card_name = "HP, Inc HyperX QuadCast S at usb-0000:0c:00.0-10.4, full speed"
api.alsa.card.longname = "HP, Inc HyperX QuadCast S at usb-0000:0c:00.0-10.4, full speed"

api.alsa.card.longname = "Generic USB Audio at usb-0000:0c:00.0-6, high speed"

The "HP, Inc HyperX QuadCast S" is running all other suspended, the "Generic USB Audio" is not the same device but on the same bus.

"HyperX QuadCast S Analog Stereo" seems some microphone?

Do you have some less fancy headphones? Do those produce sound?

Re: No audio on upgrade - speaker-test has no audio with no error

"HyperX QuadCast S Analog Stereo" seems some microphone?

Yes, it is a microphone with an aux output that I plug in my headphones to because it's a shorter cable. Other aux ports with the same headphones also do not work.

Do you have some less fancy headphones? Do those produce sound?

No they do not produce sound.

Re: No audio on upgrade - speaker-test has no audio with no error

Did you replace the device in that output?
There a Huasheng Electronics device and the other one is from Asustek, maybe the onboard audio is wired via USB??

For clarification, you tried some other headphones that you plugged into a different (the only remaining) phone jack?
Don't attach *any* external audio components anywhere, reboot, plug some dumb in-ears you know to be good into the onboard sound output, try to play some mp3 w/ mpv  and post the outputs of

amixer -Dhw:0; pactl list sinks
