Flarum

I'm currently looking at using Flarum as an almost comparable replacement for myBB.  In it's current form, it is easy to implement with minimal effort, and it uses mysql just like myBB. Once I used the nopublic directory version I almost though hey this might be a viable upgrade once I found all the plugins.  Most of the plugins seemed to be hidden in flarum forums, instead of a store, but easy enough to find.  Most seem to be hiding in a repo on m$ owned github.

I considered discourse, but given it's ruby and docker nature, I don't think I would want to use it.  Apparently there is someone who has implemented Flarum as a docker image, so there's that.

After installing several plugins, mostly from friends of flarum, I find that I can make Flarum comparable to the mostly built in functionality of myBB.  There are still a few plugins needed for myBB, but they're still trying to release 1.9 which has taken some time.  The modular plugins on Flarum make it ready for most situations.  I like the plugin that almost seamlessly imports from myBB to Flarum.  Most of the plugins come from Friends of Flarum, and cover most forum needs.

I'm thinking this might be a possible replacement for bbs here.  Some have considered this here on the forum.  Although fluxbb has served bbs for quite some time.

I didn't particularly like the date scroll at first, but it loads the posts as you slide and it's better than fakebook endless scrolling, which I don't care for.  The threads are pages at a time, just load the next one down.

I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...

You've seen the other threads on the topic (in this board) and https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … note_91422 ?

Yep.  Nobody's come up with a definite answer.

The skin from archlinux.de would work with flarum!

Flarum does have an OAuth plugin available.
