I use DWM, I don't know why this happens. I've tried looking for answers online and I've tried a lot of stuff with xdg-whatever but nothing seems to do anything. My file manager is Nemo, whenever I try to download/upload something in Firefox nothing happens, it doesn't even open. However if I decide to open a file in a different program, for example a video in MPV, it works fine. How do I even start diagnosing this?

Apparently FF uses org.freedesktop.FileManager1 - since you're using dwm, how do you start it?
If the answer is startx or xinit, see the last link below, second blue note on what to include at least.
Also
xdg-mime query default inode/directoryOffline
