Following upgrade of hplip today (v.3.26.4), the companion snapshot for hplip-plugin v. 3.26.4-1 downloaded
from AUR.
Expanding the tarball produced a previous version of hplip-plugin VERSION 3.25.8 dated 23 november 2025.
I repeated these operations again, to be sure I hadn't made a mistake somewhere along the line, and got the
same result. And now my printer doesn't work. [Coz hplip and the plugin must have the same version number.]
One remedy would be to do a retrograde install of hplip back to version 3.25.8;
But a correction to the snapshot would be nicer, and might save a lot of people a lot of inconvenience .
In my view the package maintainers have the ball.
Regards,
Dynosaw.

What tarball?
The AUR repackages https://developers.hp.com/sites/default … plugin.run - all files in that are dated 2026/5/20
So now/here the git head is ok but the snapshot doesn't update ![]()

The snapshot appears indeed to be the old version, likely the bug described in https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … _items/552
Use the git clone url to get the correct files .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
