[SOLVED] Getting banding on screen after recent update on 2011 MBP

XFCE version 4.20 X11 session.

I'm not sure what exact day it started happening but I'm getting both vertical and horizontal banding on areas of the screen that I'm guessing are GPU accelerated. For example the workspace icon thing in the XFCE panel, Chromium basically all text and many icons look glitched (but not Firefox), Kitty terminal (certain actions like Ctrl-R seem to trigger it) but not the stock terminal application. LightDM login screen will start off showing XFCE wallpaper then will glitch a bit, then on lock screen it will show pure black and white zebra stripes where wallpaper should be. This happens with both regular Arch kernel and LTS kernel.

Re: [SOLVED] Getting banding on screen after recent update on 2011 MBP

There're multiple threads suggesting issues w/ mesa 26.1, try to downgrade to the last 26.0 version
