Umm so I installed Arch 2 days ago Just cause of curiosity and wanted to try it out myself. I have no experience in Linux OS except for Bazzite and ubuntu for only a 4 days or less. though there were failed to fully setup in my machine.
Both bazzite and ubuntu have been facing the same problem NKRO and 4 Speaker problem.
But in ARCH OS the NKRO is solved the moment i installed Arch so I have no problem. But as for the speaker, my system has 4 speakers two on just beneath my laptop screen (front speakers) and two on near the Lightbar area (back speakers) .
The speakers Cirrus Logic speaker amps
the Bottom speakers are working but not the front ones. I tried using hdajackretask and qpwgraph (Suggested by internet search).
But in the End I was at my limit i tried what i could understand and even Asking AI didnt work.
So i was hoping that i can find my answer here.
everything is working great except the speaker problem

have you got the latest bios ? seemed to be the fix for this similar laptop: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220152
Offline
yes my Bios is updated to the latest version available on asus website that is BIOS 322
Offline
have you try to create /etc/modprobe.d/asus-speakers.conf ? with:
options snd-hda-intel model=1043:1caf
then "sudo mkinitcpio -P" and reboot.

Sorry for my late replies But Nope that asus-speaker file didnt work, I also restarted. Is there anything else I can do it.
btw i took the hardware ID from windows OS thought that it would Help in manually restore the speaker in linux kernal

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220152
according to this post the user speaker were atleast stuck on low volume.
Mine is the speakers arent even responding and there is NO SOUND (like dead speaker, but using windows the speakers the working fine)
Is there anything else i can find solution to it. even G16 config didnt work out well
SIDE question- Can i install Wayland Desktop session currently using plasma. i have an Rtx 4080 mobile gpu

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -s -H "Accept: application/json, */*" --upload-file - 'https://paste.c-net.org/'Also the output of "aplay -lL" and "amixer -Dhw:0; amixer -Dhw:1"
but using windows
3rd link below. Mandatory.
Disable it (it's NOT the BIOS setting!) and reboot windows and linux twice for voodo reasons.
Plasma currently defaults to wayland, you'd have to explicitly install https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/kwin-x11/ for X11 support.
Please avoid omnibus threads, stick to one topic and edit your post and give it a meaningful subject, pointing out the speaker issue.

What happens if you blacklist snd_hda_codec_alc269 ?
Offline
I blacklisted snd_hda_codec_alc269 and rebooted. Here is what happened:
1. The top speakers (tweeters) under the monitor are now WORKING.
2. The bottom speakers (subwoofers) are now completely SILENT.
3. The audio quality is very thin/tinny.
And the Audio quality of those speakers were far worse then the Normal ones, Unpleasant to listen and also Not that much Audible even with Max Volume.
So the generic driver finds the tweeters, but loses the CS35L41 smart amps. Un-blacklisting it gives me the smart amps back, but kills the tweeters (yes i Undo the changes after trying this).
Offline
Do you have a journal and aplay/amixer outputs for that condition?
Question is whether the speakers are undetected or just muted - the impact on the sound quality is probably just the hardware (front speakers lacking bass because that's not locatable by human ears)

well here are the Logs when the snd being blacklisted

No, but there's also no fixup for your model (which snd_hda_codec_alc269 has) - did you try to pair this w/ https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p2296825 ?
Offline
My bad, I just realized I still had options snd-hda-intel model=1043:1caf active in my modprobe config from an old troubleshooting attempt. I removed it to test the true baseline.
Here is exactly how my G634JZR hardware reacts:
1. True Baseline (NO overrides, NO blacklists): ALL speakers are 100% DEAD/SILENT.
2. With model=1043:1caf active: Bottom subwoofers WORK. Top tweeters are silent in normal profiles (but I can manually force them to play using Pro Audio and qpwgraph routing).
3. With snd_hda_codec_alc269 blacklisted: Top tweeters WORK. Bottom subwoofers are completely SILENT. While the Top tweeters Are playing sound at worse quality even with Low volume so at max volume the Sound become a Nightmare to hear it.
So 1caf exposes the amps and the pins correctly, but the default ALSA/Pulse mixer profiles don't know how to map the tweeters alongside them natively. What is the next step to get a proper fixup for the 1043:3a60 subsystem ID
Offline
I can manually force them to play using Pro Audio and qpwgraph routing
So this is basically a problem of the sound daemon and you need to change/set the default output profile.
