You can't really expect everyone to monitor the gitlab all the time... if a potential breakage of this was already known in testing and has been seen by the package manager, it would probably have been nice to get a news entry with the info run fc-cache -r on issues and/or at least a post install script reminder

It's also a hybrid, non-packaging bug that hinges on specific (in this case "fringe") fonts.

Edit: the (upstream) compatibility break is so massive that the package probably should™ have an upgrade warning about it.

Just stumbled on this thread as I facing a Telegram core dump. For me just running `fc-cache` cleared out the problem
