KDE Plasma crashes on startup

Hi ! Thanks for taking time to take a look at this

I am using Arch on an acer laptop and since quite some time, I can't start KDE anymore. Happily for me I primarily use hyprland, but still annoying.

The problem appears when I select Plasma (Wayland) in sddm, enter my password and hit login.
I successfully login but nothing shows up on screen. a quick look at journalctl has me thinking waiting won't help.

From what I understand, sddm works correctly, but when trying to start KDE, something goes wrong.
'alsa' keeps complaining, though idk whether it's related. And mostly, KDE services keep crashing and restarting.

Seems so (pacman output isn't suspicious either)

systemctl --user status plasma-ksplash.service

And check your 

printenv

This might be because you're enforcing the xcb QPA

that would be "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland" (lowercase) and you can also just omit the variable - Qt detects wayland and uses it by default

I looked a bit and found an occurence of "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=WAYLAND" in "/etc/environment", but even after removing the line + rebooting, still no success sad

and printenv now no longer raises any value for QT_QPA_PLATFORM

Plasma might not like that…
